A little about Medina

Medina Early Learning logoGrowing with care.
Growing together.
A considered, family-centred approach to early learning in Mickleham.

Our philosophy

Children thrive when they feel safe, loved and seen.

At Medina, each child’s family, culture, faith and language will be respected. We want children to feel a genuine sense of belonging and to build confidence at their own pace.

Our planned learning approach draws on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and the National Quality Framework. Children will learn through play, nature, stories, music and warm relationships with educators.

Meet our director

Idil Shek is a registered nurse and early childhood educator. She brings a strong focus on children’s health, safety and wellbeing alongside a commitment to play-based learning. She is building Medina as a warm, inclusive place where children and families feel known and respected.

Programs

A place for every little stage

Our proposed programs are designed around children’s changing interests, relationships and capabilities.

Proposed age groups

Babies

Proposed: around 6 weeks to 2 years

Calm, nurturing care that follows each baby’s individual rhythms for sleep, feeding, connection and play.

Toddlers

Proposed: around 2 to 3 years

Room to explore, build language and friendships, and practise growing independence through play.

Kindergarten

Proposed: 3 and 4 year olds

A play-based kindergarten program is planned, with learning experiences that help children build confidence for their next steps.

Kindergarten funding: Medina intends to explore participation in Victorian Free Kinder. Funding, eligibility and program details are not confirmed and will be updated when arrangements are approved.

Programs, age groups and places are indicative only and remain subject to final service design and regulatory approvals.
